Regarding Christian Holidays

While it might seem a bit odd to dedicate a page to Christian Holidays and their observance, I wanted to separate this out because this is very important to my wife and me. As parents, we have committed ourselves to raising our children in love and in Truth. The world has many holidays and makes a big deal about “partying”, to such an extent that we feel that the Church has allowed far too much false doctrine, false messaging, and out-right lies to permeate what should rightly be a celebration of the truths of God’s Word. The very first issue we had to tackle as a couple, much less as parents, was Christmas. This year I hope to address Halloween (we really shouldn’t take any part in this), and next year we will address Easter. I’m still praying about it, but I feel like we might need to address New Year’s Eve but I’m not sure if it needs to be included in this page. We’ll see how it goes.

Regarding Christmas

16_luke2-collectionBecause of its centrality to the whole of Scriptures, this Christmas series is worth studying for yourselves. This is not a defense of the American intoxication of consumerism; rather, this is a study of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, how the arrival of Jesus came at the perfect time, in God’s perfect Will.
